i dont know what that is. i mean - i looked it up, but i never heard about it before. maybe they call it something else here.

Mostly no, but also yes. There are some trees that are edible and cellulose can be broken down into glucose as well.
Wood is mostly composed of long chains of sugar.

there was a kid in my class who ate paper
i did that too. i watched the never ending story and wanted to be the rock giant who eats rocks. i took paper tore it up into round pieces, painted it black with pencils and then ate it.
