No, probably heading to Canada or Scotland around that time. Looking for a travel partner?

If nobody in Lemmy turns out to be in Vietnam at the time, look at couchsurfing meetups, locals and travelers there will be happy to meet up in person to give advice or just hang out.

couchsurfing

This one? https://www.couchsurfing.com/

Wanted to check the website but it won't let me proceed without login. πŸ˜’

I had no idea couchsurfing wasn't free anymore, sorry. I used to use it to find people to hang out with back when I was beginning traveling.

Couchers looks like the new alternative, which thankfully has much less frills than couchsurfing and still has real people.. I signed up just now, painless process, and checked a few cities in Vietnam and people are active, so if you're looking for a host or someone to chat with, that could work.

Thank you, I'm very happy to learn about couchers.

No but I've been there before. What's up?

BTW which places did you visit there? I'm doing the northern region.

Ho Chi Minh City -> Da Nang -> Day Trip to Hue -> Ha Noi -> Halong Bay and Sapa :)

You'll have fun no matter where you go. In Ha Noi they have great banh mis and are known for Cha Ca Va Long

My route is Ninh Binh > Sapa > Ha Giang & Cao Bang > Ha Long Bay > Hanoi.

I'm landing in Hanoi but heading straight to Ninh Binh.

And I think it's La Vong, not Va LongπŸ˜‹
