While it's better than the stagnant US defence industry is able to put out right now, with it's inherent interia in building big tech things like the F-35, it would be hard to fully justify the "China’s first domestically developed heavy military transport."

A. Su Bin guilty plea relating to Boeing's espionage shows some design data was stolen, including the the c-17.

B. They consulted with Ukraine's Antonov design bureau, which is above board, but also indicates design help.

C. The D-30KP-2 engines were Russian until recently.

Which isn't to say that the Chinese manufacturing machine isn't going to win big if it comes to a prolong war. Just like all propaganda though, it should be verify.
