Even as a Christian, it never made sense to me that people would try to make the end times happen, because the Bible is pretty clear that it's not a good time for anyone, including Christians.

Also, there's that whole, "Not all who say to me, 'Lord, Lord' will enter the kingdom," thing. There's literally no guarantee that you're gonna make it, and you'll only find out for sure at the very end. These goobers are rushing to a (imaginary) judgment they stand a good chance losing.
