Qwen TTS is good. You can break apart by paragraph and its okay.

Hiring a voice actor to read it aloud is still the gold standard.

I'm not sure if it is open source or not but I have had Audiblez in a tab for months meaning to try it out on some old books I'd like to listen to and will never have a reading done by a real person.
