It looks like nobody on piefed subscribes to Buddhism@lemmy.world, someone likely searched for that post explicitly and piefed fetched just it.

Thanks that makes sense. I always suspected this instance showed less votes and comments. So I was searching for examples and found this post.

I just subscribed to buddhism@lemmy.world. Do I have to wait a few days and check again if there's a difference?

How long does federation usually take when subscribing to a community for the first time?

Immediately, but only posts after that point are federated. Old content is not.
