The point of the article seems to be calling for closer inspection of fish, and training inspectors to recognize the parasites, because the parasitic larvae can cause allergic reactions in human consumers. Allergens can remain in the meat after freezing and cooking.

I think it's been generally assumed that all fish has parasites and that is why it all needs to be flash frozen before sale and distribution.
For me, the issue isn't if they have parasites. It's what we do to prevent those parasites from infecting people. Flash freezing solves that problem.
