Let's hope it gives her a boost. I hope it won't backfire.

Nithya is the most anti-car and pro-transit candidate.

She also has a degree in urban planning from MIT

Progress in LA would be wonderful!

1. Bernie Sanders could be classified as a liberal zionist. He is a bad guy now?

2. This election isn't about Ukraine, Taiwan or the Middle East. It's about improving Los Angeles.

3. Her opponent Karen Bass is even more pro-Israel than her. You want the most pro-Israel candidate to win....?

  1. Yes. He's a piece of fucking shit. He should face trial for what he aided in in the following months of October 7th.

  2. I know. You don't give a fuck about what your country does to innocent foreigners at your benefit. You'd vote in Adolf Hitler himself as long as he gave you first worlders the treats that you want.

  3. The false dichotomy is crazy. How about not running any pro-Israel candidates shithead? Have you ever thought about that? Maybe run an anti-Zionist candidate and have the DSA support that person instead?

The false dichotomy of... choosing between two things? That is just a dichotomy 🤣

They literally can't, it's a closed general following an open general primary

Wdym 'general primary'? And are closed general elections a thing in the U.S.?

Her position is that they are committing genocide and that they should stop. She could be better in her position but she really isn't that bad, at least from what I'm seeing in the clip you just posted.

But you make up facts about her.

You should really try watching the clip Dreamy posted.

She supports the genocidal settler colonial state of Israel, condemns boycotts and sanctions against Israel, but we should just give her a pass because she said "Gaza genocide real" in 2026?

I absolutely agree with you that her stance is way too watered down and I'd really prefer her to have some more backbone here. But honestly, ya I'm grading on a curve here; is her opponent better?

dreamy@lemmy.blahaj.zone · -6 pts · 19h

Is it physically possible for Americans to run a non-Nazi candidate?

Response to your edit: It isn't that her stance is watered down, it's that she's a Zionist. She DOES have a backbone, and she's using it to defend the Jewish supremacists currently massacring and stealing land from Palestinians in Gaza with a cutesy anti-Netanyahu rhetoric. That's liberal Zionism, and that's what the "radical" DSA is putting their support behind here.
