It's insane. I own a Tolino Shine, which is basically a Kobo Clara BW I learned yesterday. I had it for over a year and I hated the software.
One issue among many was that Multi-Page highlight was broken. The only way to do Multi-Page highlights was by playing with the font size. When you want to highlight, you have to manually shifted the font size in such a way that all the text you wanted was on the same page. I was even complaining to their customer support team. Even with only a single developer this should not be possible. Tgeir support replied that it is imagineable that this feature might get implemented. This is an ereader from 2026. Imagine.
Yesterday I spend 2 hours to switch from the trashy Tolino to Kobo software and than installed KOreader. Big relief. The filesystem based navigation feels a bit odd thb, but also refreshing in the mobile world where software tries to pretend there is no filesystem. Besides that the amount of features blows my mind. I love it. It does not compare to the og software. Much appreciated!
