Every day, President Claudia Sheinbaum gives a morning presidential press conference and Mexico Solidarity Media posts English language summaries, translated by Mexico Solidarity’s Pedro Gellert. Previous press conference summaries are available here.

Governing With Dialogue, Not RepressionMexico maintains governability through dialogue, civil liberties, and peaceful conflict resolution. President Claudia Sheinbaum emphasized “that work that goes unnoticed speaks to how well we’re doing, because we’re safeguarding the country’s governability.”

Opportunities to Keep Young People Away from ViolenceThe “Addressing the Root Causes” initiative brings education, jobs, culture, and community engagement to priority municipalities, keeping young people away from addiction and criminal groups. Peace is built by offering alternatives for life.

Peace Is Built by Addressing the Root CausesWith 545,000 door-to-door visits, Peace Fairs, and 8.5 million services provided, the 4T brings well-being to communities. Nearly 14,000 weapons were voluntarily surrendered, while victims and their families receive support with truth, justice, and reparations.

Search Until Found: A Priority for the StateThe National Search Strategy prioritizes the search for missing persons while they are still alive and provides support to their families. More than 13,000 missing persons have already been located, 1,600 criminal recruitment profiles have been deactivated, and more than 400 specialists are strengthening search efforts.

Mexico Embraces and Defends Its CitizensThrough the “Mexico Embraces You” program, 1.6 million services have been provided to repatriated citizens. In relation to U.S. government deportations of undocumented immigrants to third countries, the President was emphatic, declaring that “there is no reason to send our citizens to Central America.”

The People Have the Final SaySheinbaum noted that “99% of the commentators share the same opinion,” but that narrative contrasts with what the people are saying, as reflected in the 68–70% presidential approval rating. This gap is also reflected in the legacy of the transformation movement. “AMLO is in the hearts of the people, and that’s not going to change,” she explained.
