TBH, I get 'stuck' at times, and need a boost to explore other excellent material, 'cross the world. Living in the States for most of my life... hehe, *gulp*.
My pleasure. The Umbies are great, and one of the most unique comedy duos ever. One is a mime, and the other does sound effects, but they are so much more inventive than how that sounds.
My two favorite American standups are Steve Martin & Andy Kaufman. Much of that is based on how absurdly innovative they were, working within fairly tight, traditional parameters, as they did. But that's just me.
Did we manage to crack you up, two skips and a pond over there, as such? :P
Steve Martin's stand-up is brilliant. So whacky and surreal. He was probably amongst the first comics I came across when I first discovered it, along with Bill Cosby and Billy Connolly. His first ever TV appearance was on The Smothers Brothers Comedy hour, which came up as a recommendation when I watched that other clip you posted, which I'd never seen before.
I'm familiar with Andy Kaufman, but haven't seen much of his stuff.
I also recommend Maria Bamford (US) and Stewart Lee (UK).

Glad you liked them. I have that full show on DVD. Also, I was in the audience at the taping of The Island, which is also great.
