Captcha solving bots have been around for years (e.g. CapMonster Cloud). Before AI was good enough, it was the job of actual workers (mostly from South America and Southeast Asia) to solve the captchas for a few cents each.

Yeah, we all know, it's just a meme about the reaction of the ai.

Edit: damn, the more you know, seems like foreign workers are exploited to do pretty much anything

And then there are the photo ones that I can't even figure out. I'm just a dumb monkey pressing buttons on those. I wonder how good AI is at those cause it's probably better than I am.
