Europe would not be able to sustain a so-called hybrid war of attrition with Russia owing to a public lack of war readiness, defence officials say

They want to cut social programs but not tax the rich to defend Europe.

I suggest that your share of the defense expenses of a country should be at least proportional to how much of the country you own.

The poor will be the ones dying already.

I'm sure the rise of pro-Kremlin far-right parties is completely the fault of Russia. And not, say, the pro-Kremlin far-right nation that controls most of our media and digital infrastructure and which engages in large-scale bribery and corruption as a matter of course.

Why, exactly, are they so pro-kremlin?

Because it's easier to destroy (social-liberal) democracy with like-minded allies. Europe would have been a much tougher nut to crack without Russia to stoke their existential terror.

Guys... Europe was the origin of THE two world wars. Does anybody really want to find out?

Yes. There's enough idiots around who sincerely want ww3 by any means to make it something worth worrying about.

So … like … the people are not interested in destroying each other.

Perhaps the rich and powerful need their own cage match. Leave the rest of us out of it.
