I stumbled across an abandoned bunker up near the Black Mountain Ordnance Works in the Forest Region west of Route 88. I couldn't get into the bunker, but I did find a keycard reader. And I remembered talking with some old campaigners during the Alien Invasion about a lone, crazy man who called himself "The Emissary". The way these old timers told it, he had a working keycard that would give access to the TNT Dome 8. Now, there are two things in life that will get me all sparked up, one of those things is a mystery, and the other is a pile of loot. This here tale had both! So, I knew I had to find The Emissary and relieve him of the burden of carrying that keycard. The invasion veterans informed me The Emissary was often spotted near the Charleston Station, so I headed there first. I didn't find The Emissary there, but I did spot this strangely docile, albino radstag. I got the strangest feeling he was lookin' for something—triggering my Scoobee Doo, Pavlovian response. I followed that weird, pale, mutated stag for about a mile, back and forth in a seemingly random path. My diligence did pay off, the loony beast led me to a blasted tree stump full of loot! 24 caps, plans to craft a .38 hunting rifle, a tasty bloatfly recipe, and a list of ingredients to cook up a healing salve! So, if you run across a strangely behaved, albino radstag, don't shoot it for a quick meal. Follow it, and maybe you'll find some goodies too... Then shoot it, and cook it up in your stewpot.
