They kept hearing tiny cries coming from the ceiling.
When rescuers finally cut into the space, they found three newborn raccoons tucked inside, still with their umbilical cords. They carefully brought the babies outside and placed them on the roof, hoping their mom would come back.
Later that night, she did — and carried each one to safety.
