Had a great day sailing yesterday from Sheboygan to Milwaukee, wind kept up most of the day and other than the autopilot failing all went well! Anchored near downtown Milwaukee for the night, may stay to wait out some south winds but I've got to be in Chicago in a week!

It's an old one to, some compass and light sensor crazyness. Luckily it was just a bad ground and I've got it working again. It just forced me to be a better sailor, get that rudder locked and balance the sails

Oh goodie! So far I've had the wheel pilot belt snap every 3000km, the drive ring crack after 15000km and last year the gearbox shredded itself too.
Hoping to get a capehorn wind vane soon because it is compatible with using a tiller pilot to move the vane control rod. that way the steering power comes from the wind vane paddle instead of the weak electronic bits.

I'd like a windvane too, but there's so many other things I want, davits for one, that would interfere. If I really planned on doing more than coastal cruising it'd be a must

I considered davits but they already didn't make sense on a 33ft boat. Plus I'm building things up for bluewater sailing so a folding/nesting dinghy is probably the way I'll go once my Boatex 10 falls apart. But yeah haha the list of upgrades is never ending.

I've got a 10 ft sailing dinghy that I hoist up on deck but the older I get the less I'm going to be able to do that!
