How it started

How it's going

For anyone not familiar, Poppin' Cookin' is a line of small boxed candy making kits from Japan, where you make food items out of candy powders and similar things. They have kits for making sushi candy, and hamburger candy and much more. You're meant to eat the candy after you make it, of course.
I got this kit for Tanoshii Ramen at a local Asian market for about $4.50 US. It includes ingredients for making a bowl of ramen, with noodles, gyoza dumplings, spring rolls and mango pudding. I mostly did well but added too much water in the pudding so it came out as a pool of goo instead of a nicely formed pudding mold shape. That, and my gyoza are smaller than pictured. Bit of a bummer there but oh well.
I got started making these with my children when they were young, but now they're grown and I just find making candy this way relaxing and I like to eat the candy, eh.
Have you made these kits before? What's your favorite?

I remember watching Shane Dawson make those kits. I guess that hasn't aged well.
