I notice everything except what I am supposed to notice.

I struggle to get people to understand that I am constantly overwhelmed because I am taking in all the information all the time. I also struggle to get people to understand that I have extremely good social memory. I can't remember a 3 digit number for more than 1.5 seconds but I can remember all these tiny details about what we did together many years ago.

People assume my memory is as bad as theirs and get mad at me for refusing to accept that my memory isn't as bad as theirs. It's such a silly way to lose friends but I guess they were never listening to me in the first place.

That sounds exactly like something a confused puppy would say.

Yeah, I tend to notice everything, specially in social circumstances. But then I can get too relaxed and start dolphining in my mind, so I stop noticing anything at all until someone asks me something, I panic, and go back to noticing everything again. The observant daydreamer cycle I call it

I notice, for example, that this tweet is an antisemitic dog whistle

How so?

The @kanyesdiary. Anyone who knows about Kanye’s political views wish they never knew about Kanye’s political views.

OddDeer@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 2d

Right. I hadn't noticed the user. Makes sense.

Malica@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 3d

I'm hypervigilant and have been since I was in diapers. I see everything.

minty@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 3d

I notice fuck all honestly. I do sometimes but after its been too long to do anything about lol

erebion@news.erebion.eu · 0 pts · 3d (9 replies)

Why do you post screenshots from other places on the web..?

minty@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 3d

Thats just how the internet is?? Memes spread this way and its been that way for decades

TherapyGary@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 3d (5 replies)

This is bewildering to me. You've been on Lemmy for at least 9 months and I know Lemmy wasn't your first exposure to social media, yet you're acting like it's your first day on the internet itself. How is this not a bad faith inquiry? What culture and cohort do you come from that this is a sincere question for you?

erebion@news.erebion.eu · 1 pts · 3d (4 replies)

First of all, you don't know me, but pretend you do.

But to get back to the point: There are links. It's easy to just link to the post instead of posting a screenshot.

What if people just want to lool at the post themselves?

What if people use a screen reader?

The screenshot will not work for screen reader users. A screenshot is inaccessible.

Space_Cowboy92@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3d

Why do you assume everyone has a Twitter/X or Instagram where posting a direct link would work? Plenty of us don’t use social media except for Lemmy, and these apps are designed more and more to where you need an app to use their features or even see the posts.

I don't use the same username everywhere and I use very few things. Almost all services I use are selfhosted by me.

You have no idea about me, lol

TherapyGary@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 2d

Again, I never claimed I know anything about you. Are you even reading my comments?

Blackfeathr@lemmy.world · -7 pts · 3d (1 reply)

For the engagement bait. You'll notice OP always asks a question in the subject but just for the autism community. To me it feels kinda pandering.

Edit: OPs fan base is disagreeing with me about how OP makes me feel. lol, lmao.

erebion@news.erebion.eu · -1 pts · 3d

Yeah, it's a bit strange.

Also, links have been a thing since at least the 90s, why not simply tell us where a post comez from?
