The planet Earth is actually alive (in the literal sense of the word), and it is being covered up, so that we don't have to grant plants and fungi rights.

I don't know what else to say. Prove me wrong? I guess?

Edit: I guess I owe a little explanation. First, let me ask this: Where do "You" end? Is it at the surface of your skin? Is that what defines what is a part of "You"? How about your hair and fingernails? How about the microbiome on your skin? Is that still a part of "You"? How about your bioelectric field?

My point is: Everything is interconnected. Information flows between things that we consider separate, merging them into a new "thing" Do you destinguish every tree in a forest as it's own thing? Or is the forest as a whole a "thing"?

This line of thinking brought me to a conclusion. The Earth is basically a living organism of its own. We are a part of it. Everything that lives on the planet is a part of the planet. And the planet is developing a consciousness. It has been for millions of years now. Ever since the first monkey with an internal monologue evolved from the primordial soup, or however else it actually happened.

Microbes living on our skin and in our guts technically have free will and are to some degree conscious. Even without a brain. So why shouldn't we consider the planet itself as conscious if basically everything that lives on it is?
