At the risk of being pedantic: When Zelenskyy was offered an escape out of Kyev, he famously responded that he needed ammo, not a ride.

Yes, social media claimed he said it. But it was never confirmed. Nevertheless, that was a great an inspiring quote - real or not.

Yes, I just heard that too. It was to be expected that he wouldn't take any risks and would rather sit it out somewhere and let others do the work.
