Looks like Ryan Leonard and Justin Sourdif are the final two NHL players to receive eight-year contracts.

Leonard signs 8x$10.5, a couple hours later Sourdif signs for 8x$6.35. Under the new CBA which began midnight (EST) of September 16, the maximum contract length is seven years. Sourdif gets the distinction of the very last eight-year deal.

Drake Batherson (for Ottawa) was the only other player to sign for eight years on the last possible day, shortly before Leonard's contract was finalized.
