Good.
One big knock against him in the primary was being an unknown without any political accomplishments.
If he can demonstrate being politically effective by making people's lives better, or even getting elected into local office and demonstrating some political ability, that will make him more electable to higher office.
It's basicslly the same strategy as Arnold Schwarzenegger did by getting the independent redistricting panel initiative passed before he ran for governor, although that was a strange governors race.

I'm kinda over the whole rich outsider candidate thing, even so called progressive ones.
I wasn't quite old enough vote in that recall election but I remember how crazy it was.

I get that, but I'll support anyone who is on the right side of things, and demonstrates strong moral fiber.
Candidates without great personal wealth can be corrupted by having to raise campaign funds from wealthy individuals and corporations who may not have your and my, or the environment's best interest at heart.
Wealthy candidates can be out of touch with how "regular people" live (looks at Meg Whitman).
There's no ideal level of income.
