City code enforcement officers in November 2024 red-tagged the venue’s patio as a violation, and the outdoor space was closed as a result.

After 50 years? Sounds like bullshit to me.

Possibly, although code enforcement seems to be slow to fine people sometimes. I've seen people make multiple dumping complaints on Reddit off and on for a while before folks decided to organize a community group to clean things up.
