I can't play with out the Stay Things Shrub that makes all items left in the house stay behind at move out. I like to build and furnish things.
I also like the homework placer/finder I don't remember the name. It gives you an item that is a picture frame you can put on a desk or on a shelf above a desk and the child/teen Sims can click it and set a theirs and they'll place their homework there every time unless they can't reach it. With that, the mod that speeds up their homework time.

It's more leaning to CC but I love Maxis-Match Repo which separate the Full Outfit into Tops and Bottoms.
My favourite one is Doctors Needs Degree which is edit of 'Edukashun iz Gud'. It makes it that depending on how good your college degree is, you get better opportunities in certain careers. Some careers like Criminals don't need it.

Can't play without gussy up because I have too many mods and CC to bother taking all my Sims shopping.
Eat more talk less is great because otherwise my pregnant Sims try to starve to death and that's annoying.
Last name copier which let's you change the whole name by clicking on a painting.
I also like to do wild things so not hacks but I regularly spawn the Tombstone of Life and Death and the Sim Modder from the cheat commands.
