Dinner tonight will just be plain old grilled chicken and salad wraps. Last night was a different story.

For my birthday my wife did her usual shenanigans.

Tomato, basil and herb tart:

And the thing de resistance, crinkle pie with her home made tomato sweet chilli jam. She crinkles up sheets of filo in a pan, stuffs slices of brie in the crinkles here and there, then pours egg custard all over, a few dollops of her jam, and bakes it. 🤤

All veggies and herbs grown in our backyard.

Finished off with mint Oreo cheesecake. I'm investigating ways to legally have birthdays more often!

for lunch I had pheasant which was leftover from last night's dinner. It was quite disappointing, the meat was tough and sinewy

Espresso martinis for tea.

I made kafta bil sanieh which means baked kafta. It has potato, tomato, onion and kafta in there. Lebanese rice and yogurt to go with.

Had a reasonable meal at the Meerkat Bistro, Werribee zoo. We had fish and chips, salt and pepper calamari and chicken schnitzel and it was all surprisingly good.
