She's Still Got the Moves!

🦉HAGRID WAS ON DUTY LAST NIGHT!🐀

Last night, a rat made the unfortunate decision to wander into Hagrid's enclosure... and Hagrid very quickly reminded us exactly what owls are built to do.

She caught it completely on her own, giving us a perfect little demonstration of the incredible role owls play as natural pest control.

Even in captivity, those instincts are still there. Owls are highly skilled hunters, and in the wild they help keep rodent populations under control naturally, without poisons or traps.

It is always amazing to see these natural behaviours come through in our birds. Hagrid may live under our care, but she is still very much an owl doing what owls do best. 🦉♥️

And somewhere out there, one less rat is probably telling its friends to stay away from Hagrid's house. 😂

Nature really does have its own pest-control team.
