SUMO: September tourney (Aki Basho) 2026 - Day TEN discussion!

Greetz all! "Shiko" Sergio here to run thru some of my fave bouts from last night!!!

ROGA vs URA: The People's Champ grapples for a moment before moving backwards and introducing Roga to the dirt! All smiles for Ura!

SHISHI vs OSHOMA: I tell ya, Shishi's looking more confident. Unfortunately after a bit of battling, Oshoma still pushes him to the edge, Shishi spins out, does a bit of attack but sadly has lost his balance and ends up stepping out. Down to 4-6, Big Sheesh better win the next 4 out of 5 matches if he wants his kachi-koshi!

TAKAYASU vs YOSHINOFUJI: I'm cheering for both. Nah, I'm cheering for Big Poppa Takayasu or else he's gonna tsuppari me. Grappling, grappling, Poppa makes his move but OH NO Yoshinofuji pushes him out! Well done, bro, at 4-6 now, you really needed that win.

TAKANOSHO vs FUJINOKAWA: Fujinokawa is setting up for his famed "bullet" tachiai charge - oughta be a great fight, yeah? HENKA!!! (e: by Fujinokawa!) watafak!!?!! Oh I see what you're doing - The Dragonslayer's going up against Onosato tomorrow, and THAT'll give him something to think about...

AONISHIKI vs CHURANOUMI: Typical Aonishiki "go for the left hand grip" bout. Churanoumi does a great job of denying him that grip for a while, but while doing so gets maneuvered back and out of the right. Solid try, tho.

ATAMIFUJI vs KOTOZAKURA: Over 800 pounds of sumotori in the ring! Clash of titans, but Atamifuji's peaking, and after a desperate dodge attempt by Kotozakura, Atamifuji pushes him out.

KIRISHIMA vs FUJIRYOGA: Fujiryoga gets his hand right in Kirishima's face, then basically just forces him out and back! Fujiryoga then celebrates with a slightly less fierce scowl! Congrats bro, at 4-6 now and still got a shot at that kachi-koshi.

ONOSATO vs HAKUNOFUJI: Hey, did you know that sumo's really easy? All you gotta do is just move forward until the other guy's out of the ring! Look, Onosato can do it, why can't everybody else? Let's see, who's Onosato fighting tomorrow... Fujinokawa? The guy who did that henka dodge today? He wouldn't dodge two days in a row... Would he? It gives ya something to think about...

Anyway, Onosato's in the lead, with Atamifuji, Fujinokawa, and Kinbozan following one behind. Five others (including Aonishiki) are one behind that. Atamifuji's got a tough battle against Kirishima tomorrow, and Kinbozan hasn't fought anyone above M6 this tourney, so that Onosato-Fujinokawa bout tomorrow is a big deal! Onosato seems to be at 100% but guess what: Fujinokawa's 2 and 0 against him! Let's see what happens...
