On so-called Maoists, Chairman Mao himself said “there is no Maoism” as he considered Mao Zedong Thought to be simply an application of Marxism-Leninism. It seems people who unironically call themselves “Maoists” are not that different from Hoxhaists.

Originally they weren't, but current (especially western) versions seem pretty close. I guess that comes with guzzling the same COINTELPRO narrations.
