Types of drain tailpieces - what are they called? They fit different sinks so my new one doesn't fit.

Title says it. New Faucet came with a drain that doesn't tighten down enough, you can see the threads end much lower on the plastic one. Thanks

It’s called a drain, or a sink drain. Bathroom sink drain, specifically.

I called delta and was able to get another tailpipe without the integrated drain but the threads were still short. Ended up using a spacer made from pvc to fill the gap and that seems to be working without an issue.
