I don't get it. How is this related to star wars

'So long and thanks for all the fish!' is what the dolphins say in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, when they leave the Earth and fly off into space, shortly before the Earth's destruction to make way for a hyperspace bypass.

The Purrgil's in Star Wars are also a species of space-faring cetaceans and OP is making a meme linking the two.

What is a Purrgil? I don't remember that from the prequels or the sequels

Space whales that paid a key plot role in Rebels and now again in Ahsoka? If all you've watched is the Prequel and Sequel movies (not even the OT?!) then there are going to be an awful lot of Star Wars memes you might not get.

Jfc I haven't kept up with the recent Disney SW stuff but it really sounds like they jumped the shark.

Space-faring whales....cmon now

Cort@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Space-faring whale-squids that can jump to hyperspace.

quinnly@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 2y

I have no words

theinspectorst@kbin.social · 1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Space-faring whale-like creatures are an extremely common science-fiction trope.

quinnly@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 2y

Being extremely common doesn't make it any less stupid

Space Whales are a thing in Ahsoka

Redditiscancer789@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

Technically star wars rebels introduced them.

topinambour_rex@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

Oh, I don't bother with DRM services like Disney plus.

If I watch something its either on TV or DVD (powered by jellyfin)

karx@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

If you have Sonarr, all the episodes are available on 1337x.to ;)

Kolanaki@yiffit.net · 5 pts · 2y

Star Trek had whales in space way before Star Wars. Just sayin'.
