Feature request: Collapse comments with click

Hi dev, nice work so far. Good job.

Can you implement a setting where we can collapse a comment with a click? The content should also be collapsed.

You can collapse a comment with a long press. Personally I think the long press and short press functions should switch.. or be toggleable in settings.

Exactly! That is what my reflexes want to do.

Came to this thread just to say this

I would also prefer a short press to collapse child comments.

Hi @atheist@feddit.de thanks for the feedback! I've added the option on 1.0.39 to switch the tap and long press actions on comments so this is now possible! (Also the original post comment will collapse as well).

I don't mind holding to collapse a comment, but I'd like a collapsing animation included to make it more in line with the other animations in the app.

I found this trying to find out how to collapse a comment thread. It's the one feature I'm missing from Connect to make it my full time lemmy app.

I see now. It collapses the thread below it but not the first comment.

Hi, I've updated this behaviour on 1.0.39 to also collapse the original comment. (Also tap/long press actions can be reversed now under settings.)

Amazing, thank you! It's now my main app.

The development on these have so fast it's hard to keep up.

This was also one of my favourite features of Apollo, so that I could easily move on from a single comment thread.

Would be nice to have an option to collapse all comments by default. This allows to then click on the comments we find relevant and read their sub-comments.
