I thought I was hip to discover Pu-erh at my local
Coop… then I met this guy who had a whole box of special bricks, like “this is some 1991 white… you gotta try this one…”

I imagine the Brits used to have the same reaction at the end of the nineteenth century "Earl Grey? Darjeeling? Irish breakfast? I want black tea!"

You'd think more flavours of tea would be better, and normally it is, but sometimes you do just want to be able say "tea" and know you're getting a mug of the good stuff

Buying tea in 1423 was also very much like hitting up a dispensary, if not literally the same building. It's the 1900s that were weird
