The federal government is coping with cyberattacks this week, as a hacker group in India claims it has sowed chaos in Ottawa, but Canada's signals-intelligence agency says the 'nuisance' attacks likely haven't put private information at risk.

"Hacker group" may give off the idea that something was broken into lol

The Canadian Armed Forces says its website became unavailable to mobile users midday Wednesday, but was fixed within a few hours.

Defence Minister Bill Blair confirmed the incident was a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, which is when bots swarm a website with multiple visits and cause it to stop loading properly.

Funny thing is that these India controlled botnets probably have clients inside Canada, so a lot of this traffic will be from inside the country.

So India ordered the assassination of a Canadian official, Trudeau condemned the extra-judicial killing, and India responded by burning Canadian flags and launching cyber attacks against the Canadian military websites? Is that about right? Why is India picking fights with Canada?

@Anticorp @sik0fewl

Because everyone is courting India right now and Modi is revelling is his moment of glory, thinking he's as powerful as Putin used to be.

Typical big fish/small pond actions.

@Anticorp

Because of the conflicts many nations have with China rn. India is the next largest "democracy" in the region.

I'm absolutely sure this hacker group definitely 100% wasn't funded by the Modi government whatsoever mhmm uh huh for sure
