Ha ha. I am more surprised that people didnt go for a longer distance holiday since it was a long weekend including the bandh and schools having holidays since Thursday. Perhaps the traffic nightmare on Wednesday scared them away from such travel.
It is sort of overrated for what it is. May be for folks who like to cycle up hill, it offers a great challenge. There are good temples like Rangasthala and Bhoga nandeeshwara slightly far away from there. I would prefer that over driving up the hills anyday.

I live around 20 mins away from nandhi hills and I have seen the hills maybe 2 times.

The Nandhi temple is just pure peace and calmness. I can spend an entire day on the grass just chilling.
