Last week CBS announced they were canceling the animated series Star Trek: Prodigy. A few weeks prior, we learned that Star Trek: Discovery would be canceled after the airing of its fifth season.

CBS is doing the canceling, not “Star Trek”. Stupid headline.

Title is clickbaity, but article theorizes that it is not some kneejerk top-down thing, but the people at CBS/Paramount who are guiding Star Trek re-prioritizing now that they have an approach that works.

Stopped reading when it said Discovery was terrible. It's the best. That second season was some of the best TV in decades. I still rewatch it.

No problem with no more seasons though, Paramount can carry on and make more Star Trek any way it likes.

I found discovery diverting but I’m enjoying strange new worlds and lower decks immensely more

Same here. I am very much hoping that SNW and LD get at least 7 seasons each.

During the 3rd and 4th season of Discovery there were some characters I hated so much I always skipped right over them. I also skipped right over Burnham whenever she was expressing an emotion.
