Install a custom non Facebook tracking ROM if available, if not I'd sell it and use the money to buy an open source headset.

I run a pie hole, it has a lot of meta/facebook subdomains blocked. I would recommend that as a simpler potential solution than flashing custom firmware.

Meh. I like the honesty and the input. I'm considering a quest 3, but I also hate that meta is the one putting it out there. I'll probably justify the purchase by telling myself that they lose a ton of money on every unit and are just trying to buy market share.

For me, it would probably be:

check if I can read my phone with the cameras
test out guardian set up
check hand tracking quality and controller tracking
wiggle my head to see if it feels different
check if Ghosts of Tabor is still a slideshow
check graphics & performance in Zenth, Red Matter, Gorilla Tag, Dungeons of Eternity, beat saber
check Swordsman VR upper body tracking (and if it’s already there)
check out some mixed reality games: Demeo, puzzling places, and new mixed reality games
