I can lol, maybe I'm just old(er). But the number of guys who spend their whole careers with one team is minuscule. The chaos becomes part of the fun lol.
Oh, I agree chaos has always been part of the NBA, it's just that these years even the biggest stars during their peak years are moving teams every 2-3 years. I feel that in previous decades, while the top players moved, it was usually when they were at the tail end of their career (see:Shaq). In my eyes, that's the change, not the general chaos but the chaos at the very top.
