One of my all time favorite shows, I really hope they can pull this off without it seeming off. Since the world was created so many years ago them talking about things like Bitcoin or tv streaming might feel weird if done improperly but it seems like most of the core crew from the original run are still on so I'm hoping it will go well and I believe it will!
The last finale finished in such amazing fashion I’m fearful of how you can successfully rejuvenate the series. What stories do you tell after “happily ever after”?
I know the story left open the idea of more episodes but for me it kinda feels like being told you can spend another 5 years with your late grandfather.
Anyway I’m still gonna bloody well watch it. It’s Futurama.
They could always just make it "random adventures in a non-specific timeframe". Futurama never really had an overarching plot anyway, I don't think there's a need to worry about all the previous finales it had 😁
I hope they don't mess with Fry and Leela's relationship again. Having them be randomly on and off depending on the episode was a fun gag last season but please don't ruin the ending.
Apparently, for the past seasons, each episode took almost a year from creation to production to release. I am hopeful that they had enough time and material to put out some quality episodes.
Third actually. There was the original Fox run, the direct to DVD movies that got somewhat edited into individual episodes for Comedy Central, a standalone Comedy Central run, and now this Hulu one.
==EDIT== Fourth revival if you count the season 6 finale "Overclockwise" being written as a potential series finale when if they were going to be renewed for a seventh season was up in the air, but the renewal happened before the air date so that's borderline

I just caught up on Venture Brothers so maybe this is next for me to dig into and figure out where the hell I left off.

I wonder what the price of bitcoin is in 3023
LennethAegis@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y
bitcoin is completely worthless, now qubitcoin... that's the hot new stuff to get excited over.

I'm not excited for more episodes like the Susan Boyle one, but I'll still watch every new episode happily.

Hadn't realised it had been that long.

Feels like I watched the Comedy Central premiere just a few years ago.
But definitely feels like 20 years since I watched the Fox run at my parents house.

I just looked it up and it seems it's mostly the original cast?!?! At least for the main characters? Awesome if so!!

Time to binge all the previous seasons then. I need an unsummarized recap :P

To that list of things in the past ten years, they could add "Rick & Morty".
