That is absolutely ridiculous. I understand why they are doing it, but that does not mean I have to like it.

My favorite part is:

We are not raising the price of any of our plans; we are moving you to a newer plan with more benefits at a different cost.

So you are raising the price.

Hmmm... My price went... Up. Na, nothing to see here.

That is almost the platonic ideal of corporate bullshit.

At&t did this precise thing to us.

mogul@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

They did this to me years ago and forced me off my unlimited data plan and switched me to a limited data plan for more money. When I complained because the letter I was sent said my plan would have the same benefits but could cost me a dollar more. They gave me back unlimited data but the other device on my plan still lost the unlimited data.

Right now I have 8 lines on my family plan and pay $160 so I will NOT be switching, fuck those guys.

I assume prepaid is unaffected then?

shortwavesurfer@monero.town · 1 pts · 2y

Sounds like it. I am a prepaid customer too and its much easier for us to leave.

I guess they may come for the prepaid next? Not sure how that works without a contract.

shortwavesurfer@monero.town · 1 pts · 2y

That might be more difficult because prepaid users are quite a bit more cost sensitive and since most prepaid is bring your own device they are not locked in to the T-Mobile network like postpaid users are.
