EDIT: Oh, it actually depends on the publisher too, it seems. In the digital ones I've read, it was small caps, but in some others it's apparently all caps.
Here's a list from the creator. I'm not sure if they're all always there:
"Here is the semi-official list of symbols, more or less in order of frequency of use: eyeball, piece of pie, alien, dynamite, K2, upside-down bird, bunny head, crown, single shoe, arrow in the back.
They began in 1996 when I decided out of boredom to draw a little bird sitting on a shelf where it didn’t really belong"

There are so many regular comics in my kbin/lemmy feed. Usually amusing. Most of them I enjoy.
This one I really appreciate.
It feels like it does what a joke does, but to create poignancy instead of humor.

I mean isn't Hell the spookiest of Halloween parties, given the number of skeletons?

When bodies deteriorate only the bones stick around. This is because only our fleshy goo travels to the afterlife.
Hell is filled with piles of goo people.

big ol' flamin blobs of goo
that is unreasonably funny to me

Well, inside all of us there’s a skeleton trying to get out.

I think the blades on those scythes are backwards.
stebo02@sopuli.xyz · 10 pts · 2y
don't worry, they can simply rotate the scythe

It'd have to be bendy too

Am I a big enough nerd to correct Death's grammar here?

Why isn't Death SPEAKING LIKE THAT.

Dᴇᴀᴛʜ ᴀᴄᴛᴜᴀʟʟʏ sᴘᴇᴀᴋs ɪɴ sᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘs.
Looks better with a serif font, though.

Uncultured, clearly hasn't read enough Discworld.
shalafi@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 2y
LOL, this is straight out of Discworld.
Love it when the dwarf's black-powder experiment goes off in his lab.
"Whew! That was a close call."
ACTUALLY, IT WASN'T.

Terry Pratchett was one of the greatest to hold a pen. Revisiting Discworld via audio books and loving every minute. ❤️

I’ve been doing a full series reread. I’m up to Jingo, the books just keep getting better and better.
I’m dreading the day when I reach the end.

Did you know that every Bizarro comic has a hidden eyeball (bottom right), alien (top right) and piece of pie (can't find it in this one)?

Well there's an eye on bottom right, and alien top right
lesnout27@feddit.de · 2 pts · 2y
These are examples of the secret symbols you can find in the comics a full list with explanation is on the official bizarro website
They are not all always there, just sometimes. There is a number on the signature which tells how many are hidden for each comic.

Oh! I didn't know about the number!
