I love Halloween, but its in a bit of a sad state in a lot of the US. In my town, it's not celebrated so much with kids going out at night to collect candy, more about putting up Autumn / spooky decorations, similar to Christmas.

We have similar holiday in January when you collect candies, but “bad state” is a good way to describe it too. I only heard about someone collecting candies from my grandma.
