The new Jerboa update seems to have introduced catastrophic bugs. You'll have to use your browser for now or try one of the other apps. If you do try another app lmk how it is.
I've also seen people download the previous Jerboa (v0.34?) from GitHub

Thanks for the help! Day 2, still same problem. That's how it goes with updates sometimes... now we need an update for the update! Hopefully they fix it soon because I really like Jerboa

If you're viewing through a browser then try clearing your browser cache. I was getting lots of weird behavior after the Lemmy 0.18.0 software rollout and clearing my browser cache fixed it.
If you're viewing through the Jerboa app then I think you're out of luck for now. You'll have to wait for updates to be released, or try one of the new Lemmy apps under development: https://lemmy.world/post/465785
