It's probably twitter being dumb about age-restricted content. I don't have a Twitter account and even if I go to your profile externally I can only see your bio and nothing else. It never used to be like that so maybe they've changed how they handle NSFW content recently.
Most users use an external hosting site for things of that nature. Redgifs or catbox.moe appear to be the most popular here Lemmy.
