An investigation conducted by Ukraine's State Customs Service and together with the Ministry of Defense found that one-third of humanitarian aid donated to the Ukrainian military over the last year did not reach military units.

No wonder they are sending so many people to jail due to corruption. It's as if they are sabotaging Ukraine's war efforts. One could compare it to treason as I bet Russia wouldn't be able to destroy 1/3 of humanitarian aid - and I bet they're trying hard.

How the fuck are they "disappearing" military vehicles, having a whole third of the donations just vanish is really messed up.
Ukraine has got to get its shit together and really fight corruption in a more meaningful way.

I think that the fact we're hearing about this is proof that Ukraine is fighting corruption in a meaningful way.

I'd argue that actual systemic changes are required to not only punish, but also prevent these things from being allowed to happen.
I admit having free press that can report it is definitely a good step forward though... although now that I wanted to double check some facts on the article I see that it was just removed?
🤔 Can you check if it's still available to you?

Much of this is also likely to be disappearing before it even reaches the military; there have been gripes about it on Twitter many months ago already.

Reminds me of the movie Lord of War with Nicholas Cage. Ukraine has a history of disappearing weapons going back to the fall of the Soviet Union. It’s a hard culture to reverse quickly.

It is like the reverse of "That tree popped up out of nowhere!"

Great, as Biden is asking for 100B for Israel and Ukraine in aid. Reminds me of the $6B in cash that was "misplaced" after Iraq invasion in 2003. They eventually found it, allegedly in 2011, but it seems more likely it was a cover up by the new regime to help out whoever stole it.
