Everything that was paid DLC in the original is free in ASA, at least.

Second I heard you had to host a server with nitrado I lost what little interest I had.

You can still self-host. Simply, the commercial options for hosting will be Nitrado. Nitrado loaned them a large sum of money to keep the doors open.

Wow I can still self host? That’s real generous of them. I’ll be sure to do that after rebuying the game for $50. I’m sure I’ll have the privilege of rebuying all the dlcs for more too.

By using this Software (ARK Survival Ascended Dedicated Server, the “Application”), you agree to the following:

The Application is intended and allowed for Personal Use only. Running the Application for Commercial Purposes is not allowed. Commercial Purposes includes any revenue generated by operation of the Application which exceeds Application operational costs or tipping. Lending the operation of the Application to anyone other than the owner of the Steam login to operate is not permitted.

Running the Application is only allowed with a Steam login that owns ARK Survival Ascended, with one Application instance allowed per login.

Reverse Engineering / manipulating the Application is not allowed (e.g. circumventing the restrictions).
