Throwback to reddit serving posts / ads from blocked users because $$$

This was from around 3 weeks ago. I pretty religiously (pun intended) blocked and reported ads from the "hegetsus" fundie christian bs group for probably 6-8 months. Naively I thought it actually started making a difference.

Then I just get served an ad from them with a little note that this was "Posted from a blocked account".

"Blocked"... you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means...

Yeah I actually tried to play by the rules and just reported it as spam every time and also blocked the account.

It's not just ads. They used to hide posts made by blocked users but they stopped doing that a while ago. Blocking doesn't do anything anymore. There is also a limit to how many accounts you can block, which is easy to reach just by blocking bots.

Another reason why I enjoyed Apollo. Block someone and you never have to see their stupid face again.

Wow didn't know all that. I guess disregard for user preferences runs deep in the reddit corporate cultural dna.

Omg everytime I blocked it, it just showed up even harder. I don't even know why they wanted to spend that money, I'm an atheist
