I don't think this is normalizing it at all. There's more of a self-deprecating subtext, and it's not too dissimilar to the humor I hear from other addicts/alcoholics (been sober from alcohol since 2017 myself)
It's something we should be able to openly talk about as substance abuse is an illness. You can also make memes about an illness as a means of coping with it or to commiserate over it with others.

I tried drinking vodka during the pandemic. It gave me a stomachache. Also I like hoppy beer so it’s just not the same.
