SteamDeck is the best purchase i made in a long while

leachim6@kbin.social · 9 pts · 3y

Steam deck is shockingly good, it's insane how well they nailed rev1. It's not a perfect device but to get into one for $400 I think they made all the right compromises

Entropywins@kbin.social · 4 pts · 3y

Don't do that to them

MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 3y

I friggin love mine. It's a lifesaver when I have to travel for work and am stuck in a hotel or if I want to hang out in the living room or in bed and game. I've always had really good experiences with Valve hardware. Loved my steam link and still have 3 steam controllers too.

Donjuanme@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 3y (2 replies)

You really do though, especially if you're running a 3+year laptop or 5+year desktop.

iliketurtles@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 3y

Will shit. It's tempting but I think I would just continue to use my PC instead. I'm home quite a bit.

CoderKat@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y

That's the part that keeps me from doing it. While portability is nice, I have a really great desktop with an ultra wide. That ultra wide in particular is what makes PC gaming really great for me. I think I'd only use it on longer trips, which isn't that often.

generalpotato@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 3y

Not gonna buy it… not gonna buy it… not gonna buy it

Anomander@kbin.social · 3 pts · 3y

Aw lawd hold me back; I've been battling that temptation for months now while it was at normal retail pricing - a discount is added temptation I absolutely did not need.

iAmTheTot@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Fucking me right now.

genoxidedev1@kbin.social · 3 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Who

CoderKat@kbin.social · 3 pts · 3y

No, Who's on first.

rDrDr@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y

I was so skeptical about it but it has been amazing. Really hard to overstate. I've been travelling a lot and gaming a ton on it and it's just so... nice.

Forwarding my comment from another thread:

This is a great sale, I'm a bit jealous that I own everything I want lately. Some highlights:

  • Monster Train + DLC for ~$13
  • Mortal Kombat 11 for $5
  • Little Nightmares 2 for $10
  • Oxygen Not Included for $8.5
  • Control Ultimate Edition for $10
  • Devil May Cry 5 for $10
  • Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition for $5
axtualdave@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Control Ultimate Edition for $10

I picked this up for the xbox a while back. One of the most engaging games I've played in a long time.

Entropywins@kbin.social · 3 pts · 3y (1 reply)

I had an absolute blast playing control... I had such a big smile on my face with the metal music part, oh so much fun!!!

CoderKat@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y

That is the best part and honest one of the best parts of gaming in general.

Kinda reminds me of burning the weed fields in Far Cry 3.

Mikelius@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y

DMC5 for 10 bucks is insane.

genoxidedev1@kbin.social · 1 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Oh damn CrossCode for 6$? I've actually looked at it recently (like a day or two ago) it looked cool. I have to think about getting it. Perchance.

Dagnet@kbin.social · 1 pts · 3y

One of the best games I've played in the past few years, the story reaaaaally picks up in the middle so it might be a slow start on that area. Luckily combat and puzzles are quite fun

corm@kbin.social · 1 pts · 3y

I found the dialog to be too awkwardly written. Couldn't stick with it

ultimate_question@lemmy.world · 27 pts · 3y (7 replies)

Just dropped a crisp fiver on Oblivion, figured 17 years of people telling me to play it is enough reason to give it a shot

sota2077@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 3y (3 replies)

Just wait until you buy the sequel ;)

user1919@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 3y

It will take another 17 years.

ivanafterall@kbin.social · 4 pts · 3y (1 reply)

I think you're mistaken. If they released a sequel to Oblivion, I must have missed it. What system is it on!?

genoxidedev1@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y

I remember that game but I forgot its name sadly. I do remember that it is playable on pretty much every device basically from Consoles, PC, its even on the Switch! Perchance.

iliketurtles@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 3y

It's pretty fun. The side quests are great. I spent way to much time with the Dark Brotherhood lol. Easily my most played Elder Scrolls.

crr10@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y

My brother had knee surgery right when this game came out, he put over 500 hours into it by the time he had recovered. Definitely worth $5!

ivanafterall@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y

Playing this on Xbox 360 for the first time felt truly magical. Are you going to do vanilla or with mods? I wouldn't mind revisiting it and seeing what the mods are like, actually.

pathief@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 3y (3 replies)

Tempted to get a Steam Deck...

ivanafterall@kbin.social · 12 pts · 3y

If you bought us all a Steam Deck, we could play together...

Oswald_Buzzbald@kbin.social · 9 pts · 3y

It's a fantastic system!

Darkrai@kbin.social · 7 pts · 3y

It's worth it.

Darkrai@kbin.social · 12 pts · 3y

Titanfall 2 is less than 5 dollars right now. Link. You can also use a community mod client to play on private servers fixing pretty much all the issues playing multiplayer.

toxicbubble@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 3y (1 reply)

GoG has their summer sale as well!

TWeaK@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 3y

Oooo DRM free!

Fuck. Thankfully it goes beyond payday and landlords payday.

genoxidedev1@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y (3 replies)

Instantly bought Project Zomboid finally (after having "owned" it for half a decade by now). Am currently deciding if I should buy Far Cry 3 &| 4. Perchance. If someone can vouch for Far Cry 5 I might take a look at that as well.

Darkrai@kbin.social · 1 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Jeez I only "owned" it for like a year before buying it. Why did you hold out so long?

genoxidedev1@kbin.social · 1 pts · 3y (1 reply)

I only became 18 last year, I'm now fresh out of school and haven't received my first paycheck yet. Before that I barely had more than 10-20 € at a time because my allowance wasn't very high.
The fact that I couldn't open a bank account before I became 18 complicated things further.

But I knew that I wanted to buy it within the first few hours of playing it.

Darkrai@kbin.social · 1 pts · 3y

Understandable, have a nice day.

TheTechNerd@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y

Some good discounts

jetsetdorito@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y

Ugh I wanted to buy Oxenfree for some friends but it's not on sale
