Think the Keychron K8 Pro is too tall? No problem with a 3D printer!

Designed and 3d printed my own custom case for the K8 Pro, since I thought it was too tall and I didn't want a wrist rest.

Nice! I have a K2 original version which is super tall. I’ve been thinking of doing this but never went through with it.

It was way more work than I anticipated. Getting the measurements correct for the standoffs, daughterboard, switches etc took a lot of work and test prints to get right. OTOH I got a working prototype ready pretty fast (1-2 days) which basically just had the standoffs and the daughterboard exposed.

You might also consider doing something like this guy did: https://lemmy.world/post/2817315

Question about this keyboard. Is there a good alternative to the Caps lock ? I keep hitting it when I press "A".

Get yourself a stepped caps lock keycap, something like this:

Keychrons are reprogrammable, so if you want you can swap capslock for some other key (or straight up disable it)
