In-game Black Friday ads in certain Assassin's Creed titles are "the result of a technical error", Ubisoft say

And people will continue to play them and buy the new ones while simultaneously bitching about how bad it is.

What's the "technical error" here? How do you accidentally insert an ad into a game that only shows up when entering the menus of the game?
